Tuesday Competition Timesheet

Due to the increasing number of players on a Tuesday, the additional five tee times offered from the 12th tee from 8.24 am as from 20th July will not be offered. The reason behind this decision was due to the loss of eight tee times lost in which to permit these groups back into the field on the first tee. This resulted in a loss of three times (12 players) available to all members.

04

All Day Ball Comp - Starting Monday 2nd August from 6.30am

From 2nd August an all day ball competition will be introduced to replace the Monday Masters competition. This will allow all Members to play in a competition (if desired) with results being published the following day. There will be no times reserved for Member only play for this event however as per usual you will be required to have another Member mark your card. In addition to the all day competition the 1st tee will open from 6.30am allowing Member and social play prior to the Swingers tee off at 8.30am.

Course Supers Report

Works on the relocated 11th green have been completed. The final areas were turfed this week and it’s now a waiting game until the green is ready for use.

As for the rest of the course we have started Verti-draining all the fairways which will assist in the drainage and improve turf growth.

The new flag positioning system (front = Light blue) – (middle= White) – (back = Yellow) will be introduced mid next week once our new coloured flags are delivered.

Hopefully we have seen the last of the torrential rain and can start to improve the course beginning with re-sanding the bunkers.

On a sadder note Noel Archer has decided to retire, I’ve only known Noel a few weeks but I can tell he has been a valuable and loyal employee to the club over a number of years. I’m sure Noel will be missed and on behalf of the green staff I wish him a happy retirement and he can now look forward to those sleep ins.

Ladies Grade Pennant

This week the Grade Team went to Mona Vale to play Wakehurst on a very frosty morning.

At this stage Bayview were tied with Royal Sydney on games and points both having 18 1/2 games and 6 points. TODAY the mighty Bayview Grade Team defeated Wakehurst, who were also on 6 points, 4 games to 3.

BAYVIEW NOW LEAD GRADE 4 BY 2 POINTS!

Congratulations to the team - Jenny Fox, Chris Clarke, Sue Stewart, Di Hoschke, Lyn Watson, Charme Freeman and Ali Matthews, Colleen O'Brien, Chris Jacobs, and to all of the loyal caddies who have been there every week to support the girls, congratulations.
